If the particles of the medium oscillate in the direction parallel to the direction of propagation of wave , the wave is said to be a Longitudinal wave .

Such waves propagate in the form of CONDENSATION and RAREFACTION.

Hi friend....

Longitudinal waves are which travel in a direction which is parallel to the direction of propagation. They form compressions and rarefactions. They can travel through solid, liquid and gas. Eg: Sound waves.

Hope it helps
