in simple language i will give u the definition and it is the force which is exerted by a magnetic field on a moving electric charge is known as lorentz force.
HOPE THIS HELPS U !!!!!!!!!!!

rushabh2601: Then what abt the 2 cases of parallel and perpendicular flow of charge in mag. field... are these related to lorenz force?
kopal: is it not given in ur book
rushabh2601: yes it is bt m confsd
kopal: o let me see if i can explain u wait
kopal: for tht u can refer to internet as it will make understand by the videos of lorentz force
kopal: it will be better for u
rushabh2601: ohhk... btw tnx 4 d help

Explanation:

The Lorentz force law states that a magnetic field exerts a force on a moving ionic current. 3. The Hall effect further states that when a magnetic field is placed perpendicular to the direction of flow of an electric current, it will tend to deflect and separate the charged ions.
