Love hormone and it s function

Oxytocin is understood to be a hormone that causes feelings of love, empathy, affection and sexual arousal. It causes feelings that help building of relationships, trust and sexual activity among people. Oxytocin is a hormone and a neurotransmitter. Oxytocin affects physical and psychological behavior of a person. It is transported to the pituitary gland. Oxytocin is secreted by the pituitary gland.

It is given nick name of love hormone. Scientific observation is that during kissing, love making and embracing activities the hormone levels of Oxytocin are found high. It is in higher quantities in women than in men.  Oxytocin is produced in the hypothalamus. It is released during lactation time, and childbirth time to help those activities. Oxytocin helps reproductive functions in people.  During child birth Oxytocin helps contractions and movements in womb & uterus muscles.

Oxytocin does its function when it enters blood. Clearly Oxytocin helps people to enjoy life, relax and have  a positive outlook about the society. It has an effect of reduction in anxiety.
