Lovers Love
I believe that a lover’s love is unconditional they CHOOSE to love you, they love who you are, what you do and are choosing to spend their precious time in this world - with you.
My partner tells me all the time, he wants to be with me as much as possible. We are compatible because we have new things to share and can enjoy memories we build together but also because we can have an intimate bond (hormones and sexual flames really can bond love). I really do think a good sexual relationship is what can create long-lasting love in most cases.
Parental & Family Love
Parental and family love is more of a ‘bond’ they have shared their youth with you, you have similar memories and can subjects. You know each others laughs and likes and dislikes. It’s more of a ‘we stick with what we know’ kind of love.
My brother said to me last night “If we weren’t siblings - We wouldn’t know each other at all, we share little interests.” I don’t believe that to be true, we both love to debate politics, we both are environmentalists and become passionate about movie triva etc etc.. We choose to love each other because we grew up AND because we share topics. Where as my older sister, who I never saw growing up feels like a stranger, I love her because she’s my family but for no other reason, which can sound harsh but is completely reasonable. I understand that some people have amazing friendships with their families, which creates a whole new category of love.
A friendship AND family love - That’s strong love.
