Answer: Types of Laterite soil TWO TYPES :  Upland Laterites and Lowland Laterites  Upland laterite:- are formed over hills and uplands. From they were transported by steams towards lowlands.  Such transported soils are known as Lowland Laterites. 28.  Laterite soil does not retain moisture and hence is not fertile.
