As the blood flows in the capillaries of the tissues ,the plasma and the leucocytes "leak out" through their walls. this fluid is called the tissue fluid .now some of this tissue fluids may be reabsorbed into the blood vessels where it is called lymph the lymph is composed of cellular part and a non cellular part .the cellular part includes the leukocytes and non cellular part includes the water and solids(proteins,fats,carbohydrates,antibodies,etc.).

its functions include
suppling nutrition and oxygen to those parts where blood cannot reach.

it drains away excess tissue fluid and returns proteins to the blood from the tissue spaces.

fats from the intestines are absorbed through lymphatics.

lymphocytes and monocytes of the lymph function to defend the body.the lymphatic also remove the bacteria from the tissues.

hope it helped you dear.....!!!!
