Lymph is a interstital fluid or tissue fluid. It is colourless because it lacks red blood cells (erythrocytes). Lymph consists of plasma and white blood cells (leucocytes), it also carries cells that help fight infection and disease .

Plasma is the liquid portion of blood. It transports nutrients to the various parts of the body in the dissolved form and also carries wastes materials generated in the various parts of the body to the excretory organs to be excreted.
