lymph------a colourless fluid containing white blood cells, which bathes the tissues and drains through the lymphatic system into the bloodstream.

what is the work of lymph ans-------1 lymph is involved in transportation of substances
2 lymph carries digested and absorbed fat from intestine and drains excess fluid from extracellular space back into blood
3 lymphocytes present in it destry haramfull pathogen.

Now, how is the lymph formed?

There are some delicate spaces within the tissues in our body, where blood directly cannot reach. Hence, the liquid part of the blood along with White Blood Corpuscles (WBCs) and oxygen comes out of the capillaries. This fluid is known as Tissue fluid, which is slightly yellow in colour. The tissue fluid provides nourishment and nutrition to those tissues where blood cannot reach.

Now this tissue fluid does not directly reach the heart by flowing through the Vena Cavas. This tissue fluid, after losing oxygen and other nutrients, are directed to special vessels called as lymph vessels. Hence, the modified tissue fluid that flows through the lymph vessels and lymph nodes is lymph.

Lymphocytes, the cells of WBCs that are responsible for production of antibodies and hence providing immunity to our body, are formed here, inside the lymph nodes

Hope it helps u

The pressure in the lymphatic capillaries is lower than in the blood capillaries and the surrounding tissues, so the fluid leaking out of yourblood capillaries tends to move into the lymphatic capillaries, much like the water in a river runs downhill
