The lymphatic system is part of the vascular system and an important part of the immune system, comprising a network of lymphatic vessels that carry a clear fluid called lymph directionally towards the heart.

It is called lymph or tissue fluid and is forms because of plasma, protein escaping into intracellular spaces from walls of capillaries.

This whole system is known as lymphatic system.

Functions :

1. It forms large vessels that opens up in the large veins.

2. It carries digested fat from intestine to back into blood.
