Lyophobic colloids are liquid hating colloids.

When these colloids are mixed with the suitable liquid, a very weak force of attraction exists between colloidal particles and liquid and system does not pass into colloidal state readily.

Typically they can be prepared simply by mixing the particles with the liquid, sometime with the addition of heat.

Some examples are metal in water, ferrie hydroxide sol etc.
