➟ Lyophobic colloids are liquid hating colloids.
➟ When these colloids are mixed with the suitable liquid, a very weak force of attraction exists between colloidal particles and liquid and system does not pass into colloidal state readily.
➟ Typically they can be prepared simply by mixing the particles with the liquid, sometime with the addition of heat.
➟ Some examples are metal in water, ferrie hydroxide sol etc.
