✒Lysosomes are simple, tiny, spherical, single membrane-bound sacs filled with digestive enzymes (called lysozomes) for intracellular digestion and waste disposal. These enzymes( hydrolytic enzymes) are capable of digesting or breaking down most of the organic materials.

Hope it will help you

Hey Dear,

◆ Lysosomes -

  • Lysosomes are organelles in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells which contain degradative enzymes enclosed in a membrane.
  • They are garbage disposal system of cell and are also known as suicide bags.

# Function of lysosomes -

  1. Destruction of dead cells & aged RBCs.
  2. Lysis of cell organelles during cell differentiation.
  3. Dissolution of blood clots & thrombi.
  4. Scavenging of worn out cell parts & denaturated proteins.
  5. Autophagy by lysosomes help in cell nutrition.

Hope this helps you. Keep asking..
