Mechanical energy :-

The energy possessed by a body due to its state of rest or of motion is called mechanical energy . It is in 2 form :-

  1. potential energy
  2. kinetic energy

The total mechanical energy of a body is the sum of its potential and kinetic energy .

________________________________

Potential energy :

The energy possessed by a body at rest due to its position or size and shape is called potential energy . it is usually denoted by simple U.

Example :-

A body placed at a height above the ground, wound a watch, spring a compressed , a bent bow, a stretched rubber string etc.

Forms of potential energy :

  1. gravitational potential energy
  2. elastic potential energy

______________________________

Kinetic energy :

The energy process by a body due to its state of motion is called its kinetic energy. teeth is usually denoted by the symbol K .

Example :-

Fast moving stone has the capacity of breaking a window fan on striking it because of its kinetic energy. Similarly a car in motion, moving hand of a clock ,a bullet fired from a gun .

Geometry is, with arithmetic, one of the oldest branches of mathematics. It is concerned with properties of space that are related with distance, shape, size, and relative position of figures. A mathematician who works in the field of geometry is called a geometer.
