A magnet is a material or object that produces a magnetic field. This magnetic field is invisible but is responsible for the most notable property of a magnet: a force that pulls on other ferromagnetic materials, such as iron, and attracts or repels other magnets.

Magnetism is a class of physical phenomena that are mediated by magnetic fields. Electric currents and the magnetic moments of elementary particles give rise to a magnetic field, which acts on other currents and magnetic moments.

And properties of magnet are :-

1:-They are: Attractive Property – Magnet attracts ferromagnetic materials like iron, cobalt, and nickel.

2:-Repulsive Properties – Like magnetic poles repel each other and unlike magnetic poles attract each other.

3:-Directive Property – A freely suspended magnet always points in a north-south direction.
