Answer:

a piece of iron or other material which has its component atoms so ordered that the material exhibits properties of magnetism, such as attracting other iron-containing objects or aligning itself in an external magnetic field.

The substances which are strongly attracted by magnets are called magnetic substances. For example, iron, cobalt, nickel and their alloys are magnetic substances. The substances which are not attracted by a magnet are called non-magnetic substances.

Whereas, a piece of magnetic material can only attract a magnet! Magnetic materials do not have fields around them, but they are affected by near by magnetic fields.
