Simply, just as electric current is the movement of electric charges through a material, magnetic current reference the apparent motion of magnetic "charges" or monopoles through a material.

Magnetic current is, nominally, a current composed of fictitious moving magnetic monopoles. It has the dimensions of volts. The usual symbol for magnetic current is {\displaystyle k} k which is analogous to {\displaystyle i} i for electric current
