The term 'magnetic effect of electric current' means that an electric current flowing in a wire produces a magnetic field around it .
examples- iron, steel, nickel and cobalt.

the phenomena of conversion of electric energy into magnetic energy are called Magnetic effect.

when a electric current is passed through the conductor it is place near to the compass niddle of the compass will deflect .it shows that there will be attraction force around the conductor this is called magnetic effect .
