When a ferromagnetic material is magnetized in one direction, it will not relax back to zero magnetization when the imposed magnetizing field is removed. ... The lack of retraceability of the magnetization curve is the property called hysteresis and it is related to the existence ofmagnetic domains in the material.

when a material that can be magnetize is magnetised in one direction, the material does not come back to its zero magnetization. But when the applied magnetic fields is removed, it must come back to its zero magnetization in opposite direction. when a changing or alternating magnetic field is applied to a ferromagnetic material, it's magnetization will trace out a loop and this loop that are being traced due to applied alternating magnetic field is called as magnetic hysteresis loop.
I hope that this will help you.
