Explanation:

The Mahabharata is an ancient Indian epic where the main story revolves around two branches of a family - the Pandavas and Kauravas - who, in the Kurukshetra War, battle for the throne of Hastinapura. Interwoven into this narrative are several smaller stories about people dead or living, and philosophical discourses

The first version Jaya had about 20-24,000 verses and Mahabharat has about 100,000. Jaya was about spiritual victory, Vijaya was about material victory, Bharata was the story of a clan and the last version included all the wisdom of the land called Bharat-varsha (India) that's why it was named Mahabharat.
