•   salt tax was imposed by british government.
•    gandhi wrote letter to viceroy irwin with his 11 basic demand including salt tax issue because it was common to all community.

• but irwin did not reply to gandhi letter and ghandi started salt march in 5 march 1930.    
• ghandhi ji was main hero or leader in dandi/salt march.
