major diagonal is the diagonal joining two opposite short sides

and minor diagonal is the diagonal joining two longer sides.

Given: A Parallelogram.

We need to tell what is major Diagonal or what is Minor Diagonal.

 

We know that there are two Diagonal in the parallelogram.

In observation, its clear one is smaller than another.

Smaller is know as Minor Diagonal while larger one is known as Major Diagonal.

Minor Diagonal is the diagonal which is constructed by the vertex of  two obtuse angles of the parallelogram.

Major Diagonal is the diagonal which is constructed by the vertex of  two acute angles of the parallelogram.
