What is majoritarianism , majoritarianism ? It wrong if a majority community in a country rules? Give reasons to justify

Majoritarianism is against the basic fundamentals of a democratic country. this is because in majoritarianism the ethnic/religious group in majority in terms of population dominates the minority in every way possible. According to me it is wrong.

this might lead to a civil war. in such case thousands are killed, thus hampering the human resource of the country.

public and personal property is damaged on a large scale, big companies don't invest in such nations affected by civil war by the fear of losses , causing economic setback.

the government is not able to focus on other essential issues like poverty alleviation, space programmes, education and health, infrastructural development, foreign relations etc.

eg: in Sri Lanka Sinhalese dominated the Tamil population.

Majoritarianism is a system in which the majority in a region is given full priority, and no heed is paid to the needs of the minority. It is not a good system as the minorities are also citizens of that same region and also deserve some attention along with the majorities.
