chromosomes are the structure present in the DNA which carries genes.

These chromosomes of males and females are particularly different.

males have X Y chromosomes and females have XX chromosomes.

In a new zygote, the sex is determined by the male chromosome.

The female egg already have a X chromosome. if an X chromosome fertilises the egg, the resultant infant will be a female infant ( XX ). If a Y chromosome fertilises the egg, the resultant will be a male infant ( XY ) .
