The lower jaw of human is known as the mandible. This is the bone which forms the lower part of the human's skull.


Mandible forms the mouth structure along with the Maxilla. The maxilla is the upper jaw.


The lower jaw of the mouth permits to chew food. In addition movement of the lower jaw opens and closes the mouth.


The lower set of teeth is embedded in this jaw.
