It is a process of transforming raw materials into finished goods are products. Manufacturing sector is considered as the backbone of economic development of the country because:

1.It provides employment to a large number of people just as in cotton textile and steel industry.

2. It helps in the export of goods and earns a valuable foreign exchange.

3. It also makes a country economically sound.
