\textbf{\underline{Manures}}

Manures are natural source of soil nutrients for the plants. They are decayed organic material collected as biological wastes by action of microbes from decomposition of vegetable and animal wastes

Manure is applied to the soil before crop is sown, as it affects the soil in three ways :-

1. Adds organic matter = It improves the physical condition of the soil by making it spongy and adding the organic matter.

2. Enrich soil nutrients = Manures contain inorganic salts in partially bound form.

3. Food for soil organisms = Manures contain organic compounds which stimulate seed germination.
