Hello there your answer

In simple words Majoritarianism is something in which the majority of the people opinion is taken into consideration and everything is done in favour of majority people

it increased feeling of alienation among tamils in Sri Lanka because
majority of Sri Lanka are sinhalese so everything was in favour of them starting from the schools to the jobs
schools were built for sinhalese people only their language was compulsory so tamil children can't join the school
in jobs also sinhalese had first preference and tamils were rejected so this made them hard to live also
later they demanded a separate state for tamils in Sri Lanka but Sri Lankan people suppressed tamils opinion this led to great devastating war also
this was like isolating tamils so they felt alienated
