Mathematics is Symbolic Logic.In basic mathematics there are many ways of saying the same thing: + Addition, Add, Sum, Plus, Increase, Total.......... − Subtraction, Subtract, Minus, Less, Difference, Decrease, Take Away, Deduct........... × Multiplication, Multiply, Product, By, Times, Lots Of........ ÷ Division, Divide, Quotient, Goes Into, How Many Times

Actually Maths is the study of relationship among numbers, shapes and quantities. It uses its various tools to simplify the problem. Like basic tools are Addition, subtraction, Multiplication and division. But actually it uses the sign, symbols and proofs which also include the trigonometry, arithmetic, algebra, calculus, geometry. 
Maths do not completely solve the problem, it actually simplify the problem by using Log and Algorithm.
