Hey there!

Matter is what composes every body having a tangible reality. The four most common states are solid state, liquid state, gaseous state and plasma state. Matter occupies space and has a mass. Thus, in physics, all that has a mass is matter.

The ordinary matter which surrounds us is formed of baryons and constitutes the baryonic matter. This definition excludes the fundamental bosons, which carry the four fundamental forces, although they have mass and / or energy.
Hope it helps you!
