Anybody which occupies space, possess mass and whose presence can be felt by our sense organs is called matter.

\bold{example}: - Air , water , solid.

The entire universe is filled with energy , neither it possess mass nor it occupies space.

Energy is the capacity to do work . There are many kinds of energy .

Example - Mechanical energy, Heat or thermal energy , light energy, Magnetic Energy and chemical energy.
