Matter is anything that has mass and volume.
Matter is classified into three groups- solid, liquid and gas
Solid- In solids the molecules are packed tightly. They also have a strong force of attraction between them.
Liquid- In liquids the molecules are loosely packed. They also have a force of attraction which is less than a solid.
Gas- In gas the space is the most. The force of attraction is also very less

helo buddy!!!  ^_^

Matter is anything, such as a solid, liquid or gas, that has weight(mass) and occupies space. For anything to occupy space, it must havevolume. Thinking about it, everything on earth has weight and takes up space, and that means everything on earth is matter

further Matter can be classified into two categories: pure substances andmixtures. This classification is based on the internal composition of that matter. Using composition to describe matter is better than using its state, because the internal makeup makes matter unique, and not its phase or state. Example, water can be vapor, solid or the usual liquid. This means that scientifically, it is not correct to say water is a liquid, even though we all know that water is usually a liquid.

characteristics of matter are
1.particals of matter have space between them.
2.particals of matter r continuesly moving.
3.particals of matter attract eachother.
4.kinatic energy of  particles increases with increase in temperature.

hope it helped u buddy!!
and plezz mark it as the brainliest ans!! ^_>
