Friction is the resistance offered by the surface that are in contact with each other.

Due to the irregularities between the two surface that's acting, it leads to friction.

Types of friction-

Four types of friction are there, namely-

  1. Fluid friction
  2. Rolling friction
  3. Sliding friction
  4. Static friction

All these friction mentioned above are very different from each other in the way they act.

For instance, sliding friction is the friction that comes into play between the two object when they slide against each other. Likewise Static action is the action that comes into play when the objects are at rest.

Friction is very important in our day to day life. For eg-

  1. It is because of friction that we don't fall while walking. The friction between the floor and our slipper helps us to walk instead of slipping.
  2. The friction between the Tyre and the road prevents cars from sliding.
