specific heat capacity is nothing but retaining of heat for longer period of time.
For example: water has highspecific heat capacity.That means it can retain heat for longer time.If u heat it, it would be hot for longer time.If u cool it, it would be cooler for a longer period of time.The best example is the water melon.water melon has high quantity of water in it.when a water melon is cut after removing it from the refrigerator, then the inner part is cool due to the high specific heat capacity of water.
