  • This occurs in diploid as well as haploid cell
  • This occurs in somatic cells

Mitosis is a continuous process though it is divided into two phases:

  1. Karyokinesis
  2. Cytokinesis

Karyokinesis is divided into 4 sub-stages:

  • Prophase
  • Metaphase
  • Anaphase
  • Telophase

And after telophase,cytokinesis comes and cytoplasm divides and 2 daughter cells are formed.
