surfing the Web. To navigate through the World Wide Web or Internet, usually by clicking with a mouse. The term also has a generic meaning of spending time on the Internet.

Net surfing is like jumping from page to page by clicking on any hyperlinks through the internet browser. This is also known as web surfing.
Always keep in mind that downloading is different from surfing.
Net surfing usually involves:
- starting an internet browser
- typing the address of a web page in the location box or address field of the web browser.
- identifying and use of common buttons on the browser toolbar like back, forward, home..
- navigating and moving between web pages
Good example of surfing :
By clicking on the buttons of the TV's remote , user can jump from one channel to another channel.
