A decimal is said to be non terminating if it never ends and continues toll infinity after the decimal point.
This happens generally in case of irrational number [ the numbers which can't be expressed in p/q form and continues till infinity when the radicals are removed ]

Say for example
,
We have a number,

✓2
✓2 = 1.4142135.... and this never ends

E.g 2
Suppose , we have , 20/11
We know ,
20/11 = 1.818181881... and this will continue till infinity.

Note that 20/11 is a rational number but when the numerator is divided by the denominator , the result is never ending after the decimal point.
