the parasites are the organisms which feed on living cell and did harm to that cell....

the endoparasites are the parasites which feed inside the body of host..
e.g.E.coli.....in intestine

the ectoparasites are the parasites which feed on outside the body...
e.g. licks , ticks...

➡ Parasitism is an interspecific interaction where only one species benefits (parasite) and the interaction is detrimental to the other species (host).

➡ In parasitism, one organism spends a part or whole of its life, on or in the body of other organism and get nourishment and shelter from that.

Special adaptations of parasites :

(i) Loss of unnecessary sense organs

(ii) Presence of adhesive organs to cling on to the host

(iii) Loss of digestive system

(iv) High reproductive capacity

(v) Complex life cycle involving one or two intermediate hosts or vectors to facilitate parasitisation of its primary hosts.

Depending upon their occurrence with the host body, parasites are of following types :

(i) Ectoparasites : They feed on the external surface of host organism e.g., lice on human.

(ii) Endoparasites : Parasites that live inside the host body at different sites (liver, kidney etc.).

Life cycle is more complex due to their extreme specialization.
