Alkane are called saturated hydro carbon.
They make single bond between carbon atoms.

1)They are HYDROCARBON having only single bonds between HYDROGEN and CARBON.
2) Common Formula= CnH2n+2
3) All the carbon atoms has filled their valency with hydrogen in these types of bond.
