what is mean by scattering of light used phenomena to explain why the clear Sky appear blue or the sun appears reddish at sunrise
Answers
At the time of sunrise and sunset, when the Sun is near the horizon, sunlight travels a greater distance through the atmosphere to reach us. During this, most of the shorter wavelengths present in it are scattered away from our line of sight by the molecules of air and other fine particles in the atmosphere.
1....When light coming from sun enters the atmosphere then it gets break up into 7 colors..This phenomenon of division of white light into 7 colors light is called scattering of light
2..When the white light enters earth atmosphere then the blue light get scattered by the big particles present in atmosphere...So the color of sky is blue.
3..during sunrise or sunset the sun is at the farthest distance from the earth so only red light can travel that distance..Hence the color of sky is red in evening and early morning
