What is meaning of " All person are before the law "

The meaning of line "All person are equal before law" is that there would be no discrimination done by the court in giving its decision. No VVIP would be left scot free even if guilty and no innocent poor would be convicted. All shall be at equal stand in the courts.
For example : if a popular star is found to be guilty of crime then he would not be left unpunished even if it would affect his stardom or make his fans upset!
