A barbarians were uncultured or savage people. In ancient times any group of people not belonging to the great civilizations of Greek, Roman and Christian are all referred to as barbarians. There were many other places where different tribes of Greek live. They are also called barbarians because of their wild ways to wage wars, destroy, loot and carry away slaves.

Nowadays the term is an insulting word for a person who is uncivilized, unculture or a person with no manners.
