LCM is nothing but the least common multiple.

So, for understanding what exactly the LCM is let us understand the each and every work of LCM.

LCM is the least multiple (Multiple is the number which comes in table of any number, it can be calculated by multiplying the given number by natural number), it is also the least multiple which is common in both the numbers.

Like if we have to find the LCM of 2 and 3.

So, multiple of 2 are 2, 4, 6 and so on

Multiple of 3 are 3, 6, 9 and so on

As we can see that 6 is common multiple of both 2 and 3 and it is also the least multiple.

So, LCM of 2 and 3 will be 6.
