the process of separating indoluble solids ,suspended in a liquid,by allowibg them to setle down is called sedimentation and the process of pouring out the clear upper liquid witout disturbing the sediments is called decantation

Decantation: It is the process of removing the water without disterbing the sediments which have accumelated below

Sedimentation: It is the process of letting the water in a still position so that the heavier sediments sink below.
