each state is divided into different wards known as constituency
-The entire state is divided into constituency equal to the number of seats in the state legislative assembly
-Voters of each constituency caste their vote in favour of the candidate of the choice.
-the candidate who secured the highest number of votes get elected and as an MLA and represents the constituency in the Legislative Assembly of the state.
