Contact force is a force that is applied by objects when they are in contact with each other. Contact force acts on a point of direct contact between the two objects. Examples:- Pushing a car up the hill, writing name with a pen or picking up a textbook from the table etc.

A non-contact force which acts on a object without coming physically in contact with it. The most familiar examples of a non-contact force is gravity,which confers weight.In contrast a contact force is a force applied to a body by another body that is in contact with it.
