A party that secures 6% votes of total votes in an election to the legislative assembly of a state and win already 2 seats, is recognised as state party or regional party.

Some of the regional or state parties are:Akali dal(punjab), Shiv Sena(maharashtra), DMK(tamil Nadu), RJD(Rash Trina Jabra dal) (bihar) and etc.
