  • The rate of change of velocity is accelaration

  • If the final velocity is greater than initial velocity then it is positve acceleration.

  • If final velocity is lesser than initial velocity then it is negative acceleration or retardation

It is a vector quantity. It's formula is:

Acceleration= Change in velocity/time taken

a=∆V/t {∆V=Vf-V}

a=Vf-Vi/t

It's S.I unit is meter per second square (m/s²)

POSITIVE ACCELERATION:

If the velocity of object is increased then acceleration is said to be positive.

NEGATIVE ACCELERATION:

If the velocity of object is decreased then acceleration is said to be negative.
