Aerobic respiration means respiration in presence of oxygen.( Occurs in all higher plants and animals)

Eg_ respiration in human.


Anaerobic respiration means that respiration in absence of oxygen. (Generally occurs in lower species like bacteria fungi etc..)

Eg_respiration in yeast


Aerobic respiration

C6H12O6+ 6 O2 --- 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + 38ATP


Anaerobic respiration

C6H12O6 ---- 2Lactic acid + 2ATP
