Breakdown of glucose to produce energy in the presence of oxygen is called aerobic respiration.

Glucose ( in cytoplasm) ----> Pyruvate (in mitochondria) ----> CO2 + Water + 2ATP molecules

Humans respire in the presence of oxygen.

Answer:

Aerobic respiration is when an organism breaks down glucose with the help/ use of oxygen. Breakdown of food releases energy. Humans and most animals normally use aerobic respiration.

Aerobic respiration is the aerobic catabolism of nutrients to carbon dioxide, water, and energy, and involves an electron transport system in which molecular oxygen is the final electron acceptor. The overall reaction is: C6H12O6 + 6O2 yields 6CO2 + 6H2O + energy (as ATP).

Hope it helps you..
