Answer:

This law was given by robert boyle in 1662.

according to this law,

"the volume of given mass of gas is inversely proportional to its pressure at constant temperature and pressure. "

i. e volume inversely proportional pressure

v=k1/p

where k is the constant of proportionality known as boyle constant whose value depend upon mass of gas and temperature.

pv= k

the product of pressure and volume of given mass of gas is constant at constant temperature.

let v1 be the volume of gas at pressure p1. taking the temperature constant. the pressure of gas changes to p2 so volume of gas can change to v2 so according to boyle law

p1v1=p2v2=k
