Chromosomes are mainly made up of DNA(Deoxyribonucleic Acid). DNA molecules are packed into the thread-like structures. Each chromosome has a constriction point called the centromere, which divides the chromosome into two different sections, or “arms.” The shortest of the arm of the chromosome is called the “p arm.” The longest of the arm of the chromosome is called the “q arm.”

Types of chromosomes are -

i) Aerocentric.

ii) Submetacentric.

iii) Metacentric

iv) Telocentric.
